My S4RS is back on the road Well after more than 2 months my S4RS is back at home and I am able to go for a ride. As many of you know my S4RS 07 was one of the bikes affected by the Rapid Bike Bug. I have it set up with a full Titanium Arrow system and then put it into Flywheels get it running well, with the std ECU and Arrow full system it ran like a dog. The RB3 was put on and the bike achieved 140hp with a really cool dyno curve, see below. After the RB3 was put on I picked up the bike and took off on it and headed for hom, the bike really pulled, it was fantastic, then after about 10 mins it started to splutter and cough and after about another 5 k's I had to pull over and call for assistance. Anyway the long and the short of it is that the RB3 unit does not work with 07 Euro3 emission systems and I needed a new ECU. So Ron took the bike back and offered to cover any costs to get it back on the road. He took it to Frasers and ordered a DP ECU for me and gave me another bike (a Kwaka though) and I waited, and waited and waited...... I can't really fault anyone, Frasers did what they could (George was really helpful the whole time and did what he could to help) and so did Ron, but the Euro holiday period is just the worst time to try and get anything out of Ducati. The new DP ECU was ordered as Bike off Road urgent and I even tried to call the Ducati factory to try and get the part to Aus any way possible (my wife is Swiss Italian and so she called really) but no answer on the phones at all, we even tried the accounts office, no one there. The moral to this story is, never break down or try to do anything tricky in July! Because sure as hell if it can go wrong it will and then you are stuffed. After a really long wait I am finally happy with a Bike that really gets up and goes and pulls from really low revs with no obvious flat spots. I will get the bike Dynoed with the DP ECU but I didn't want to wait any longer this time so when I get it serviced I will get it Dynoed again and see how the DP ECU goes in comparison to the RB3 units.I am really looking forward to some good weather now! Hope fully I will get out this Sunday, at least up the Old road anyway.
